SENSE

SENSE is for people with learning disability. V know that our senses are our best friends, sometimes these are the only things that V could count upon. Our project SENSE does that, it feels, it senses more than any thing else; a project close to our hearts. The project was first started by Smita Singh in August 2010 when the Asian Women Day services joined VAANI. It has since grown and become a place full of joy and friendship. V work with various Day centres. Please contact Smita on info@vaani.org if you would like us to do workshops at your venue.

Sessions

V have regular weekly sessions

Art/Craft and Painting on Tuesdays from 10:30 am to 12:30pm
Venue: 3rd Floor, Redbridge CVS, Forest House, Clements Road, Ilford
and
Keep Fit Dance classes on Fridays from 11:00 am to 12:00pm.
Venue: Mildmay Community Options Hall, Ilford

To have fun with words, literature, art/craft and world in general. All people with learning disabilities are welcome to join for free.

The sessions are designed keeping in mind their needs and is both fun and informative. It is a very informal setting and V try to give our service users practical knowledge, awareness of various forms of literature i.e. poetry and/or story via reading, writing, chatting etc. V also engage in art and craft activities once a month.
Term time only, three terms per year coincides with school terms.
